September 27th - Letters from Van Gogh with Kate Clabough!
Despite his relative obscurity during his lifetime, Vincent Van Gogh's paintings are now some of the most recognizable in history. Not only was Van Gogh a prolific artist, he was also a prolific writer. He traded letters with friends and family members, many of which have survived today.  In this workshop, we will combine the elements of the troubled artist's life - letters, art, music and history - to create our own unique versions of one of Van Gogh's most iconic paintings Starry Night. Painted in June of 1889, this painting was inspired by the view from his window in the sanatorium in which he was living in Southern France. Come spend a night with Van Gogh! We'll paint a loose version of the Starry Night as a background and then we will write on antiqued paper and incorporate them into the painting. We'll make the star swirls with pastel chalks. This workshop is from 6:00 - 9:00 pm, for ages 12 & up, and the cost is $60, includes all materials.
